Lakes Park is a large 279 acre park with 15 acres of freshwaters lakes. There are several paved trails.
It is a great place for bird photography. Wading birds, opsreys, hawks, eagles, and migratory birds make the park their home.
There are also gators, otters, raccoons, and bobcats. However, bobcat and otter sightings are rare.
This is a very easy location to photograph. The birds are close. The lighting is the morning and evening is excellent.
If you want a place in Fort Myers that almost guarantees good bird photo opportunities then this is the place.

There is plenty of parking and you should never need to worry about finding a place to park
Parking is $1/hour. Lee county parks parking passes are accepted.
The park is open every day from dawn to dusk.
